Choose from kits designed specifically for droplet generation, droplet merging, picoinjection, and droplet selection, which include all the necessary components, reagents, and consumables for these applications in a single box. Custom application kits, containing microfluidic chips prototyped and manufactured according to your specific needs along with all necessary reagents and consumables, are also available with a short turn-around time. All kits are guaranteed to be compatible with the Onyx and Styx systems and will produce the most reliable droplet generation and droplet manipulation results every time.
Custom Application Kits
Contain microfluidic chips prototyped and manufactured according to your specific needs as well as all necessary reagents and consumables to run these chips. Our chips are made from PDMS elastomer allowing for a fast turnaround time. All custom client designs are kept strictly confidential.
Droplet Generation Kit
Encapsulate single cells or single molecules into monodisperse droplets for subsequent high-throughput functional screening, digital analysis or sequencing. Choose the droplet size that best fits your experimental needs, from 20−25µm to 60−70µm. Each kit contains supplies for 6 runs.

Each Droplet Generation Kit contains 1 microfluidic chip 5 mL Droplet Stabilization Oil 4 mL Sample Loading Oil 1 mL Emulsion Breaker 12 (DM) or 18 (CF) syringes 12 (DM) or 18 (CF) safe-needles 12 outlet tubings 1 disposable hemocytometer.
Droplet Merging Kit
Allows pairwise droplet merging to combine the contents of two different emulsions in a controllable manner. Use droplet merging to add reagents that start, modify or stop biochemical reactions. Each kit contains supplies for 3 runs.

Picoinjection Kit
An alternative reagent addition solution that does not involve droplet pairing. It is a good choice for high-throughput applications that need fast reagent addition and can tolerate slightly higher variation in droplet volume. Each kit contains supplies for 3 runs.

Droplet Selection Kit
Enables fluorescence-activated droplet sorting on the STYX system for high-throughput functional screening applications, such as for in vitro evolution, drug discovery, functional metagenomics, and many others. Each kit contains supplies for 5 runs.

Each Droplet Selection Kit contains 5 microfluidic chips 10 ferrules 2 screw nuts 20 x 25 cm Styx Microfluidic Tubing 15 mL Spacing Oil.
SPC Innovator Kit
Enables reliable sample encapsulation into SPCs using the ONYX microfluidic system and supports emulsion generation, emulsion breaking, and SPC dissolution. Each kit contains supplies for 6 runs. Each run generates 1M SPCs per hour.

Each SPC Innovator Kit contains 1 microfluidic chip, 18 syringes & safe-needles, 12 collection tubing, 1 disposable hemocytometer, 500 µL 2x Core Reagent, 500 µL 2x Shell Reagent, 150 µL photoinitiator, 5 mL Sample Loading Oil, 5 mL Capsule Stabilization Oil, 5 mL Emulsion Breaker, 1mL 50x Wash Additive, 100 µL Release Reagent.
SPC Generation Kit
Enables reliable sample encapsulation into SPCs using the FLUX microfluidic system and supports emulsion generation, SPC recovery, emulsion breaking, and SPC dissolution. Each kit contains supplies for one 8-sample run. Each run generates ~120,000 SPCs in each chip lane.

Each SPC Generation Kit contains 4 SPC Generation Chips, 6 gaskets, 1 disposable hemocytometer, 500 µL 2x Core Reagent, 500 µL 2x Shell Reagent, 150 µL photoinitiator, 5 mL Capsule Stabilization Oil, 5 mL Emulsion Breaker, 1mL 50x Wash Additive, 100 µL Release Reagent.
Single-Microbe DNA Barcoding Kit
Facilitates cellular labeling of single microbes encapsulated in SPCs. Barcoded samples are then ready for library preparation and sequencing. Each contains supplies for 3 experiments with an approximate number of 10,000 barcoded cells in each.

Each Single-Microbe DNA Barcoding Kit contains reagents for cell lysis, whole genome amplification, DNA debranching and end prep, and barcoding.
Our reagents and consumables are thoroughly tested for use with the Onyx and Styx systems and can be used to produce the most consistent and reliable results. Droplet stabilization oil surrounds the droplets to prevent them from coalescing and maintains their size and shape. Sample loading oil prevents the formation of air bubbles and facilitates the transfer of samples to the microfluidic channels. Spacing oil serves as a lubricant and improves liquid flow control. When compartments are no longer needed, the emulsion breaker can be used to recover droplet contents.
